Coming to India from abroad?
Whether you are travelling from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Taiwan or elsewhere, the first few days in India can feel unfamiliar. A regular Indian can help you understand what to expect before you arrive.
What people often worry about before India
Common concerns include tourist scams, overcharging, airport taxis, women’s safety, food, local etiquette, neighbourhoods, cash and payments, transport and simply knowing whether something that is happening is normal.
Start before your flight
You can speak to someone who lives in India before your trip, ask practical questions and build familiarity. If you later want an airport welcome or some in-person accompaniment, that can be discussed separately based on city and availability.
